Even with the most powerful cars, running from the police is full of risks, but this Mercedes C250 is not exactly a speed demon. The guy driving it doesn’t seem to quite understand that, we suspect his little German sedan could be smoking an Arkansas State Police cruiser. He was wrong.
Who is to blame for this accident between a police officer and a citizen?
According to the officer who performed the brutal, high-speed PIT maneuver, he clocked the suspect traveling at 105 mph in a 65 mph zone. And when he checked the license plates, they came back into the system without proof of insurance filed with the state.
Think about that for a moment: a man driving a Mercedes at more than one and a half times the speed limit on the highway apparently has no insurance. Then he decides to run from the police, presumably due to the lack of insurance and the fact that he’s going to get a big ticket, and probably has his ride confiscated while he’s being arrested.
As we always say, the only way to make any bad situation worse is to run from the police. And this man does just that, pushing his small sedan to 110 miles per hour. He’s no faster than the trooper at that speed and we wonder if that was a shock to him.
At one point he turns off the lights of the Mercedes, trying to black out and disappear into the night. But he’s in a bright silver car and keeps braking, causing the taillights to come on. It’s almost like this guy has no idea what he’s doing.
The chase doesn’t last long at all, thanks in part to the Mercedes being seriously outgunned, with the ASP cruiser chasing it like a leopard in search of a rabbit. Personally, even if we were stupid enough to run from the police (we’re not) and an Arkansas soldier came right behind us, we would just get out of the way and surrender before the inevitable happened.
But this guy isn’t smart and he doesn’t do it, so his beautiful Mercedes-Benz is taken out at 187 km/h, sustaining some crash damage. He’s lucky he got away from that
